Ivan Kozlov

Artistic Director, Choreographer, Ballet Master, Professor, Former Principal Dancer

Ivan Kozlov is an internationally experienced ballet artist, choreographer, director, and pedagogue. His professional performing career has included the Mariinsky Theatre, Eifman Ballet, National Opera of Ukraine, and Ballet Internationale (USA), among others. As a principal dancer and guest artist, he has performed leading roles throughout an extensive international career across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Ivan is the founder and Artistic Director of Kyiv City Ballet, an internationally touring Ukrainian ballet theater that has appeared at major venues around the world, including Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and Sadler’s Wells in London and New York City Center. As a choreographer and ballet master, he has created and staged more than 25 ballets and choreographic works, encompassing classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire.

Alongside his performing and choreographic career, Ivan has extensive experience in professional ballet education, working with professional and pre-professional dancers internationally.

Teaching Approach

Ivan’s teaching combines the traditions and technical discipline of classical ballet with the practical demands of today’s professional stage. Drawing on the knowledge passed to him by generations of distinguished artists and teachers, as well as his own experience as a principal dancer, choreographer, and artistic director, he places particular emphasis on coordination, musicality, dynamics, artistry, and stage presence.

His goal is to help dancers understand not only how to execute movement correctly, but how to transform classical technique into confident, intelligent, and expressive performance.

Katya Kozlova

Associate Director, Répétiteur, Ballet Teacher, Ballerina

Katya Kozlova is a ballet teacher, répétiteur, and Associate Artistic Director of Kyiv City Ballet, combining professional artistic experience with a detailed and highly individualized approach to ballet training.

Her work with dancers encompasses classical ballet technique, pointe work, repertoire and variations, rehearsal coaching, and preparation for performances and auditions. As a répétiteur, she works closely with dancers on the technical, musical, and stylistic details that transform choreography from learned steps into a finished stage performance.

Katya is a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor and is currently undertaking professional teacher training with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), further developing her pedagogical work within an internationally recognized framework.

Teaching Approach

Katya’s teaching is precise, attentive, and highly individualized. She places particular emphasis on helping dancers understand not only what to correct, but why and how movement works. Her goal is to develop technically secure, intelligent, and independent dancers who can apply corrections confidently in class, rehearsal, and performance.
